INTRODUCTION
Tiana Tozer was born in Eugene, Oregon, raised in Idaho and has made Portland her home. She earned her BA from the University of Oregon and her Master’s at University of Illinois where she played wheelchair basketball while working on her degree. In 2010 she was name University of Oregon’s Outstanding Young Alumni.
Tiana has been a member of five national championship teams. As a member of the USA Woman’s wheelchair basketball team Tiana competed in the 1992 Paralympics where she helped her team bring home the silver medal. In 1996 at the Atlanta games she helped her team win the bronze medal. Most recently she spent five years pursuing her dream of working internationally as a humanitarian aid worker in Iraq and Sudan. In 2013, she was the recipient of the Harold Scharper Achievement Award for her work on behalf of people with disabilities. In 2014, she was inducted into the Boise High School Hall of Fame.
She is the author of Starbuck’s quote #83 and is currently working on writing “Your Mother Doesn’t Work Here” and her memoir “American Non-combatant.”
